The ‘Alt-Right’ House That Breitbart Built

Reprinted with permission from Media Matters for America.

The former head of Breitbart, Stephen Bannon, is the chief strategist to the president of the United States, Donald Trump. We are only starting to see how far-reaching the impacts of that relationship will be.

John Kerr, Sarah Wasko, Dayanita Ramesh, and Alazar Moges contributed to this video.

A den of iniquity, overseen by Trump and Bannon. Even “Satan” would hesitate entering the house that Breitbart built, and take a shower after departing.

“Starting to see”? No we’re well into Act 1.

Equally disagree that Satan would hesitate to enter the house. Given the hate, lies, and despair the House of Breitbart brings us, he’d be right at home.

I’ve made some comments relevant to your comments on political parties. Would you like me to copy them to you or can you just look them up yourself? They’re on the recent Bernie article.

I’ll check them out. As for the “Satan” reference, I’m sure you’re aware that that is a metaphor used to convey to us humans of the potential to do the opposite which God placed in us to test us and see how well we can discern right from wrong, and to serve as a warning to be mindful of the consequences of “willfully” making the wrong choice. We all make mistakes, but for those who on purpose seek to harm others, these are individuals who’ve gone beyond acting out ignorance. Once one has been made aware by cultural norms, that align with the “Standard” as defined by all the “Messengers” sent in a progression to human societies the world over over eons, then you have no excuse.

Political parties are at the point where most participants willingly overstep the bounds of moderation and decency. I had the Bernie article on my to-read list. Ahhh! So many issues, so much work, and so little time.

I stand in awe of your ability to write extensive, coherent, individual comments to so many different articles.

For myself, I see the Democratic Party as more sinned against than sinning. But if you tell me that I’m just standing up for my tribe, I’ll consider it.

What is the great Satan within the Democrat party? What within the party plank does not have the long-term objective to help the less fortunate among us?

Unlike the GOP where virtually every objective is counter to what Jesus taught?

Do everything you can to judge others and edict your will on them: discrimination is their goal.

Do everything you can to favor the wealthy above the less advantaged by 1) cutting budgets to programs that help the needy eat and live, 2) deny them even the healthcare they need to see another day, 3) deny them unemployment benefits when they’ve been unfortunate enough to lose their jobs because of your own party’s bad governance, and on and on.

Do everything you can to convince as much of the population as you can to hate your neighbor if he or she does not look like you and on and on.

What in the Democrat party is akin to any of those clearly unGodly things that are the hallmark of the GOP these days?

Certainly I’m not claiming Democrats are saints, as are truly none of us. But I fail to see what in the Democrat party’s objectives are unlike what God has asked us to do. And the fact that there are random Democrats who maybe break God’s laws, how is that any different than any of us who fail in our attempts each day to walk as Jesus would want us to and commit sins, even those of omission?

        3. Independent1 March 11, 2017

And by my last post, I’m not trying to be snarky. I am just frustrated when I keep hearing people making general statements about how politicians’ objectives in general are always counter to what is best for America’s people and the country, when that perception has to fall almost entirely on the GOP given the vast difference in the political objectives of the two parties for especially the last 90 years.

The GOP is clearly working to create an oligarchy where the GOP is working to turn as many Americans as it possibly can into nothing more than peons who can polish the boots of themselves and their wealthy donors.

While unless I’m clearly missing something, especially ever since FDR what I’ve seen of the Democrat party has been to work at doing everything it can to lift the less fortunate out of living in poverty. By enacting legislation that not only favors the less fortunate but also works to improve the living standards and everything about our country (infrastructure, etc) whenever they’ve been able to override the GOP’s obstructionism to everything that would move us into the future.

So people lumping today’s American politicians into being people who are supposedly uncaring about the lives of the majority of Americans and are not working hard to improve everyone’s life, is just totally frustrating to me. It’s not only those on the right that are living in blindness today – it’s also many on the left.
