In Congress, Republicans Are Starting To Fret

  1. BDD1951 February 18, 2017

I’ll just bet Trump was behind the Russian hacking himself. After all he ran his campaign himself. Nothing happened that he didn’t approve.

    1. Independent1 February 18, 2017

Absolutely! Trump owes a bunch of Russians big bucks (back in 2008 one of his sons said that Russians were pouring money into their companies); so you can be sure that the Russians are looking for trump to deliver on his debts.

So he’s not going to let just anyone run things, and he’s consistently shown that he’s the only one that he trusts; because his mom and dad always told him he was the only one smart enough to run things; which is why he’s always convinced that he’s the smartest person in any room he’s in.

Which may be true since he’s surrounded by idiots!

        1. Independent1 February 22, 2017

Yes, idiots in more ways than one – if not outright ignorant – so extreme that they’re off the charts.

Here’s an interesting article just in from the right-wing website Blabber/Buzz:

Michael Moore: Anti-Trump Town Hall Protests ‘Makes the Tea Party Look Like Preschool’

          Written by Pam Key

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All In,” while discussing a wave of rowdy town hall participants angered over President Donald Trump’s agenda, liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said they made the Tea Party “look like preschool.”

Moore said, “I’ve never seen anything like this in my lifetime,
and I go back to the anti-Vietnam War days in my youth. This is an incredible, incredible turnout.”

He continued, “I’m telling you folks, who are younger, this hasn’t happened since 1970. You’d have to go back that far, before Kent State, before where you saw crowds like this, and even then you didn’t see middle class. You didn’t see grandmas.’

He added, ‘This makes the Tea Party look like preschool, I mean seriously.”

          1. dpaano February 23, 2017

I think this is great…..we need to keep it up until 45 decides he can’t take anymore and quits! Our young people and millennials are so much more astute that we were during the Vietnam era, and they are doing everything possible to make people see that this administration is out to harm this country and it’s citizens!! I just hope that they don’t lose steam and keep it up!! If we boomers are there in person, we’re certainly there in spirit!!!

It’s a tad bit late for Congress to start fretting over the current state of affairs. They should be concerned more about the baggage they assumed gladly once Southern Democrats(“Dixiecrats”) began migrating en masse over to the GOP back in the 60’s.
The die was cast and it has been down-hill ever since.

Yes, Donald presents– justifiably so–new headaches for the GOP, but their heads are so encased in cement that flack from Donald should have little impact. The GOP should be thinking less about how much their bank accounts will be further embellished courtesy of the American voters(and “Non-voters”), and think more about reversing the backward trajectory they’ve long insisted America should traverse.

Interesting article just now from right-wing website Blabber/Buzz:

Democrats, Republicans Coming Together To Impeach Trump

Many on the Left and Right are talking about the possibility of
impeaching President Trump, but the grounds to do so are limited.

Republican Mark P. Painter, who served as a judge for 30 years,
argues conflicts of financial interest may be cause for Trump’s

The phony legalisms Trump has said he used to “separate” himself from
his businesses – though he still owns them and his sons are running them – will be cited to make this all acceptable. Horsefeathers. No ethical expert could say with a straight face that this is not a classic conflict of interest.

[…] I am a lifelong Republican. I voted for every Republican presidential candidate from 1968 to 2004. But I have watched what once was a sane, center-right party go off the rails, first to the extreme right, then to wherever Trump is, which is in another universe.

It’s tough, but we must end this dangerous presidency. Trump must be impeached and removed with all haste. But only Congress can initiate the

So what course of action might Congress take if they were to impeach Trump?

The Huffington Post has outlined four ways Congress may try to impeach Trump, if it gets that far.

      1. “The Russia Connection” The Russian connection could […] implicate Trump in criminal activity if it turns out that, prior to assuming the presidency, he instructed Michael Flynn to interfere with the Obama administration’s imposition of sanctions on the Russians in retaliation for their interference with
      the election.

      1. Aaron_of_Portsmouth February 18, 2017

Yes, Congress is going to have to swallow a very bitter pill, and they have only themselves and their childish and petty attitudes to blame.

    2. Mama Bear February 19, 2017

We reap what what we sow. When the grand old party jumped in bed with all the fringe groups from Jerry Falwell to the Breitbart lovers of the country they were sowing the seeds of a crazy dysfunctional ignorant goon in the Oval.

  4. Thoughtopsy February 18, 2017

At the very least this reveals the GOP as a bunch of sexual predator-approving, power hungry Hypocrites, who will happily ignore:
    – Republican Party Principals
    – Conservative Principles
    – Ethics
    – Human Morals
    – The Constitution
    – Congressional norms and procedures
    – The opinions of a majority of Americans on key issues
    – the health and well-being of the Nation
    – and overt Racism, Bigotry and Misogyny…
… in order for their Republican Party to gain and hold power.
    Very obviously: “Party before Country”

Not that we didn’t know that already.
    But now it’s horrifyingly obvious.

  5. FireBaron February 19, 2017

Regarding the GOP control, they broke it. They can fix it. Although given their penchant for passing the buck, I am sure they will defer it to the next Congress – if there is one.

  6. Mama Bear February 19, 2017

I have said this time and again – the Wiemers thought they could control Hitler too. And we all know the outcome of that arrogance. This is no different.

  7. yabbed February 19, 2017

What do Ryan and McConnell care? They have a steady six figure salary plus all the benefits of graft and corruption available to them through their positions. (Look at the millions McConnell has piled up.) They have beautiful, lifetime comprehensive health care and enormous pensions. Why would anyone think those suited up moochers would care about them?

  8. iamproteus February 19, 2017

“I have never seen such a concerted effort to try and make an administration fail so early on,” said Johnson, chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Where were you, Mr. Johnson, in early ’09 thru ’16?

  9. dpaano February 22, 2017

If, as Ryan says, the president’s job is to preserve the “security of this country,” can someone PLEASE explain to me why he did not include the countries that actually DID send terrorists here in lieu of countries that have NEVER sent a terrorist here? It makes absolutely NO sense to me other than the fact that 45 has business dealings with these countries and can’t afford to make them mad!!! He cares NOTHING about the security of this country….he only cares about the security of his bank account!
