#EndorseThis: Incredulous Conservatives Denounce GOP Obamacare Repeal

Conservatives, Bill Kristol, Obamacare

In the days since the GOP announced its plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, the bill has faced searing criticism from Democrats and even some conservatives who disapprove of “Obamacare Lite.”

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, neoconservative pundit Bill Kristol berated the Republican Party for rushing through an unpopular bill that has already faced brutal condemnation from the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Osteopathic Association. Kristol can’t understand why the Trump team tossed out the “Politics 101” playbook.

“They are so intoxicated with the notion that Trump’s going to bless it,” a stunned Kristol exclaimed. “[Like] Trump has this magic potion that he just slaps on something and it goes sailing through.”

At the end of the segment, Kristol predicted that the GOP bill is “going to fall apart and there will not be a vote.” Of course he makes all sorts of predictions that never pan out, most notoriously about the invasion of Iraq. But is he right this time?

Let’s face it—-the GOP can’t come up with anything simply for the fact that they can’t do their job without imposing their ingrown parsimonious money-focused mania on every decision they make. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are in parallel to this debacle considering retrofitting restroom stalls in major cities, with locks and a meter requiring coinage or credit card, based on how long the user estimates the time needed. Or even start taxing people for having babies on top of the standard medical costs. Capitalism run amok is the fondest dream of every dedicated stalwart fiscally responsible conservative.

Even Jack Benny would be amazed and fuming.

So, it’s no wonder they cooked up the idiotic notion of expecting people to pay for what they don’t have for medical help, and have the patient wait until Uncle Trump decides to send a measly tax credit in the mail to cover the principle of a loan the patient would have to pay for surgery, and have the patient foot the interest accrued while waiting a year for a check. Nooo!—The GOP wouldn’t be that stupid. Or wait—Maybe they would.

Aw shucks, Aaron, you had to give them the idea of pay toilets everywhere.

What Republican conservatives are upset about is that their plan is nothing more, and nothing less, than ACA lite, with changes in financial assistance, and a big give away to the insurance industry, and the wealthy, at the expense of the lower middle class.

Hoping that Wm. Kristol is right about something is a bit disconcerting, but there’s the broken clock theory…

How much you want to bet that Trump is having dreams about his beautiful wall with his name written all over it, especially if it can be seen from outer space.

Oh, definitely, lbgrandma. The aesthetics shall be judged by whether Trump’s majestic face appears repeatedly on both sides of the wall and that it spells out his name when viewed from space so aliens shall immediately know the name of the most important person who has ever existed on earth.

Sounds about par for the course he has set.

I think Joe Kennedy said it correct: There is no mercy in a system that makes healthcare a luxury.
