We will soon be a fallen nation of city-states vs. the Oligarchical Swamp Things. If we do not acknowledge the God Who made our incredible country so favored, it is only a matter of time that either the climate imploding or our own arrogance will ensure eventual destruction.

Our arrogance will certainly be a factor in our destruction. That has to do with our erection of competitiveness as a virtue, when in fact it is the root of all moral evils; and along with that goes all forms of greed and self-centeredness, and the easy justification of exploitation and cruelty.

But the solution, or effective conversion, has nothing necessarily to do with acknowledging God, least of all the God of the Bible. In fact, all that talk about “our incredible country so favored” is very much a traditional part of the very arrogance that we are right now deploring.
