PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – Democratic National Committee head Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned on Sunday amid a furor over leaked emails, throwing the party into disarray on the eve of the convention to nominate Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.

Lingering bitterness from the heated primary campaign between Clinton and rival Bernie Sanders erupted after more than 19,000 leaked Democratic National Committee emails seemed to confirm Sanders’ frequent charge that the DNC, the administrative arm of the party, played favorites in the race.

Sanders had demanded that Wasserman Schultz resign earlier in the day.

“We have planned a great and unified convention this week and I hope and expect that the DNC team that has worked so hard to get us to this point will have the strong support of all Democrats in making sure this is the best convention we have ever had,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement.

The furor was a blow to a party keen on projecting steadiness in contrast to the volatility of Republican nominee Donald Trump, who was formally nominated last week, and overshadowed preparations in Philadelphia for Clinton’s coronation as the Democratic nominee to face Trump in the Nov. 8 White House election. The four-day Democratic convention will open on Monday.

You know, after Oliver went into how the primary process went and how controls were still in place (with Ms. Wasserman denying they existed even as everyone courted the super-delegates) I knew this was going to happen.
The entire process needs streamlining again, in both parties’ systems, from the county level upwards.

I have been opposed to Ms. Wasserman-Schultz since day 1. You don’t appoint a sitting Congress member as the National Committee Chair. Oh, yeah, put her in charge of the House campaigns. No problem with that, but they should never have named her as the boss. She has been incompetent at it since day 1.

Everyone seems to forget that DWS was Hillary’s chief campaign advisor in 2008. She was literally on the Clinton payroll. The whole dem primary has been rigged since day one. This is how someone like Trump wins the WH. The chickens are coming home to roost. Nominate Bernie or feel the pain in November.

According to the hundreds of polls I am looking at Hillary is the only candidate that Trump can beat. I have seen hundreds of polls showing Bernie beating Trump by double digits. Americans prefer honesty. Hillary is literally becoming more unelectable by the minute. The entire party is dishonest and we will be paying a huge price. We need to drop Hillary like a bad habit.

Exactly why we need to nominate who can win. Hillary is dishonest and had to have this primary rigged. Hillary deserves to lose. The dems will get what they deserve. Crime never pays.

OK let’s be a little more realistic, if HIllary won with more votes and more pledged votes, how is an email about religion going to bring the nomination to Sanders?

Hillary did not get more votes. It was rigged. The results were faked. Now they are going to try to cover it up. More emails will be coming out.

If in fact a staffer floated the idea of belittling bernie’s religion or lack of, that says a lot about that staffer. But the fact that it was never acted on and I am sure if it had been we would have heard about it, says a lot about the DNC.

You can flap your gums all you want. This primary was rigged from day 1. Now we have proof. Hillary deserves to lose and will. If you want to win in November then we mus nominate an honest candidate like Bernie. Hillary sucks.

Oh the turmoil. Oh the chaos. Oh the outrage. The Democratic party preferred the Democratic candidate (You do realize they allowed Sanders to run in the primary as an Independent) Now what will happen when all the Wasseman Schultz supporters…..oh wait, never mind. You are now seeing one of the great differerences between the two parties. There aren’t many who were enthusiastic about her leadership, but they were cordial, thanked her for. Her service and moved on. I’m so proud of my party. The party for adults. I was Bernie supporter, but now I’m just a Democrat again.

If there’s a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, the cowardly and inept Democrats will find it.

(HRC wins) + (DJT loses) / (HRC loses) + (DJT wins) = x

x equals: Permanent gridlock, war, recessions, and massive piles of US taxpayer funds wasted on phony litigation an dso much more misery and strife for at least 4 long years coming our way
