Donald Trump Goes Birther Again — This Time On Ted Cruz

Share

Well, well, Donald Trump is now having some fun with his new main rival, Ted Cruz. And this new line of attack against Cruz is actually an old line of attack for Trump, one he used to great effect against a certain somebody else. Trump is once again alleging that his hated foe might not really be an eligible U.S. citizen.

Remember that Trump practically built his political following back in 2010 and 2011 by promulgating all manner of conspiracy theories about President Obama’s birthplace. So it only makes sense that he could really have a ball against a candidate who was actually born in another country.

Cruz was born in the Canadian province of Alberta. In 2014, he legally renounced his dual citizenship in Canada — after the very fact of his having it had taken him somewhat by surprise.

The Washington Post reports:

“Republicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: ‘Do we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?’ That’d be a big problem,” Trump said when asked about the topic. “It’d be a very precarious one for Republicans because he’d be running and the courts may take a long time to make a decision. You don’t want to be running and have that kind of thing over your head.”

And just to up the ante here, Trump seemingly invoked the language of protection rackets:

Trump added, “I’d hate to see something like that get in his way. But a lot of people are talking about it and I know that even some states are looking at it very strongly, the fact that he was born in Canada and he has had a double passport.”

Shorter message from Trump to Cruz: That’s a nice American identity you’ve got there — would sure be a shame if something happened to it.

For his part, Cruz has responded via Twitter — by invoking the classic “Jump the Shark” scene from Happy Days.

That’s what Cruz gets for coddling the Donald. Never turn your back on Trump or bother to cozy up to him.

FINALLY…..FINALLY!! something Donald McRonald says that I can agree with…..Cruz is a smarmy fake who has no business in public office….and should withdraw from the Presidential race on Constitutional grounds

We are who we are, and what we are, irrespective of where we are born. Cruz would be a smarmy fake, and a wholly unacceptable candidate for POTUS, if he was born in Kansas. So we don’t need to resort to a birth certificate, or have a discussion over what constitutes a natural born citizen, to disqualify him, or Trump. Isn’t it about time we sent the kids to their room, and got serious about electing our next President?

Does anyone know if Cruz ever stated in Public that he believes Obama is a natural born citizen and that he is Christian? See all the Republican Birther Believers have to either admit they were wrong about Obama if they accept Cruz as a natural born citizen or admit it was all about skin color and not citizenship.

Well, of course, it was all about skin color! But racists rarely admit to racism.

February is approaching and Donald has thrown his last card on the table. It is up to you Cruz to swim or get drown to the bottom of the sea.

Yes, Trump went birther on Cruz. Who didn’t see that coming? Well, you cozy up with a rattle snake, and are surprised when you get bit? I think they call that being naive, Ted. The last thing we want to hear out of another Commander in Chief, is who knew there were two different kinds of Muslims in Iraq? Well, it’s hard, it’s just really really hard, folks. That reality over there your sons, and daughters are being chewed up in. On a different note, I saw where Trump publicly insulted Angela Merkel of Germany, and the Conservative Government in London was actually considering barring him entry into their Country! Wow! Good thing Trump has Putin for a friend, or he might not have any left at all by the time he takes office.

Yeah, if he gets elected as president (heaven forbid), how many countries would allow him to come visit and how would he EVER be able to deal with them? From what I’ve seen of Trump, if they didn’t do what he wanted them to do, he’d just blow them up and take their oil!! Doesn’t matter that their oil isn’t OUR oil! What a moron! I find it difficult to believe ANYONE would even seriously consider voting for this man. He would bring major chaos to this country, and he’s already on the road to that end!

Exactly! First, I can’t see him being elected. Or, if he is, I no longer recognize my Country. Nominated by the current GOP in it’s deplorable dysfunctional condition? Absolutely! But elected by a wider, much more informed, and frankly saner electorate? No. But I do think we should consider Trump’s inevitable defeat this fall as a very dangerous bullet dodged. And realize we as concerned citizens have a part to play in changing the dynamics that have produced the Trump phenomena. A good place to start would be insisting the press, and others who serve as the public’s well of information be held to a higher standard than the current one now in place. So as to start to push back on the poison, and blatant propaganda that has progressed beyond the pale. So much so, that it has a demagogic buffoon leading the Conservative Right lock step straight off the proverbial cliff, with election day just a short 10 months away.

I totally agree….but, today’s media isn’t the same as the media in Kennedy’s day. They have no boundaries on what they publish, which is really sad. They go crazy writing about Trump instead of just ignoring his idiocy! The only reason he’s running is that he’s a narcissist and loves to be in the spotlight. Once the spotlight dims, he’s going to go off in another direction! I can actually see him running as a third party, which would be a help for we sane Democrats!!!

ohhhhhh no you don’t….don’t even try to pin that a**hole on us….we are still trying to get someone to take the blame for Bush. Come on…..if you were REALLY our friends you would extradite him back to Canada and do something harsh with him!! We’ll get back to you about who and what to do with Trump……

Well lets see.. The Trumpit tried to hump Obama with his birth nag and now he’s ready to hump Cruz (his own party pal) what I’ve concluded is this donut mouth seems to only care about his wide ass and that’s the last thing we want in a leader.. If the majority of his butt sniffers can’t see how true this is then for sure they’re also looking after useless butts at least until they get him in office then he can hump them. Cruz is a sleaze bucket but that’s not rare within the GOP.
