Big difference between Teflon Donnie and the “populists” of the past. Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Franco, Hitler, De Valera, etc. all were fairly impoverished in their personal origins. Teflon Donnie was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, even though that spoon was tarnished by Antisemitism, Redlining, Fraud and Pimping. As opposed to drawing true believers to his side by his rhetoric and his denouncements, Trump is effectively paying those he wants to follow him.
If this were Germany in 1934/35, Teflon Donnie would be one of those denounced by the new leadership as one of the elites. If this were Russia of the early 1920s, his fortune would have been confiscated and he would have been executed. If this were Ireland of the 1920s, his fine head of hair would have been shaved, he would have been tarred and feathered, and if her were lucky, someone would have thrown a torch at him.
Once his blind followers have their eyes opened, he will be cast down like the false Idol he has set himself up as.
