U.S. Formally Accuses Russian Hackers Of Launching Political Cyber Attacks

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. government on Friday formally accused Russia of a campaign of cyber attacks against Democratic Party organizations during the campaign for the Nov. 8 presidential election.

U.S. officials have said in the past few months that they believe cyber attacks were orchestrated by hackers backed by the Russian government, possibly to disrupt the election in which Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton faces Republican Party candidate Donald Trump. Russia has dismissed allegations it was involved in cyber attacks on the organizations.

“We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities,” a U.S. government statement said on Friday about hacking of political groups.

The statement by the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence did not blame the Russian government for hacking attempts against state election systems, but said “scanning and probing” of those systems originated in most cases from servers operated by a Russian company.

“These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the U.S. election process,” the statement said. “However, we are not now in a position to attribute this activity to the Russian Government.”

The condemnation coincides with increasing tensions between Washington and Moscow on a range of international issues, from the Middle East to Ukraine and cyberspace.

Does anyone for a single minute believe that the Republicans are not in on this Russian hacking? How else can they win an election? And let’s stop pretending they have NEVER before done anything as sneaky and underhanded as to try to get DNC information. WaterGate burglary remind you of how low the Republicans will go?

And let’s remember that it was Republican Cotton who secretly made a deal with Netanyahu to subvert the Iran Peace deal. Come on folks…wake up!

When you have Trumpty Dumpty running as the GOP candidate, you would collude with the Russians through Trump’s Russian business contacts to rig the election, wouldn’t you if you are desperate enough to win? Why else would Trump and Pence be making nice to Putin?

I’ll bet anything Trump made a secret deal with Putin to get Russian hackers to rig the election. Trump is ruthless. The Republicans are desperate. Ruthless and desperate are the stuff of rigged elections.

Nixon, for all his glaring faults, would probably have been genuinely horrified by Trump.

The Russians attack the Democratic Party while never releasing information they have hacked from Trump and his Republican Party. It almost looks like they know which party is the party of Russian interests. How could they have arrived at that conclusion?

Why the Russians would prefer a party that has managed to contort its ideology 180 degrees to fellate them is just one of those Mysterious Mysteries™

Drumpf invited Russian hackers to hack Hillary Clinton and our government internet so why is every one surprised when they did. This is the person you want for president?
