WATCH: Jon Stewart Makes Sense Of Donald Trump’s Candidacy

During last night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert set out to to interrupt his mentor Jon Stewart’s blissful retirement in order to find an explanation — any explanation — for Donald Trump’s success.
“How can we guess what will happen,” Colbert said, referring to this week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, “if we can’t begin to explain how we got here?”
Colbert then reappears in Stewart’s isolated retreat, and asks his old friend for some clarity.
Jon Stewart has been a bit of a hermit this election season, rarely appearing every now and then, including for a wide-ranging discussion with David Axelrod at the University of Chicago in which he took aim at the American political culture that created Donald Trump.
Last night, though, Stewart stepped back in to his old on-screen persona to give voice to the overwhelming reaction to Donald Trump’s political success: That guy?!

Too funny!!!!
He looks like he’s got GRIDS.
and the sour puss say…he’s got GRIDS.
Still laughing. Humor is grand, great for the sole. Even better when it’s about Trumpf. Gotta love it.
Pray for me…or something like that.
I can’t laugh anymore. I see no humor in America
I was anticipating his version of how we got here. Now I’m left with my explanation which is why I can’t laugh
You would laugh if you had to suffer through Canadian news every day. The big news items today were some federal civil servants getting shorted on their pay due to a software glitch, the Maritime Provinces not getting the summer sun the way other Provinces do because of their geographical location, and lettuce being used as an unusually popular item for hamburgers and deli sandwiches this summer. Oh by the way, apparently lawns need to be mowed regularly. Courtesy, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation evening news.

HAROLD!!!
For the love of GOD, would you light a fire under the moderators’ asses and put an end to these ungodly spammings by “GlobalSuperJobs”?
Sounds like the thought police are creative up North
Yeah there are hate speech laws and it can be kind of a pc culture, but it’s not so much that. There’s just usually not a lot going on. Picks up marginally when the politicians return to Ottawa in September.
In the meantime, this Republican convention is great. The Arkansas AG walks out and declares herself to be a “gun-carrying, Christian, conservative woman.” Meanwhile Carson strongly implies that Hillary is a Satanist. Duck Dynasty weighs in on politics and we haven’t even got to Trump yet. Can’t beat that for entertainment.
