This Week In Crazy: Alex Jones Drinks Bone Broth Chocolate Milk

This Week In Crazy

Shadow government ruffians, alt-right “journalists,” and bone broth chocolate milk. Welcome to This Week In Crazy, The National Memo’s weekly update on the loony, bigoted, and hateful behavior of the increasingly unhinged right wing. Starting with number five:

5. Joe Scarborough

I don’t know whether it’s the unscripted nature of Morning Joe or its namesake’s political bipolarity, but Scarborough somehow manages to dig his own rhetorical grave at least once a week. This week — Thursday, to be exact — he tried to perpetuate the thoroughly debunked argument that increased immigration inversely affects the wages of “white working class Americans.”

Per MediaMatters:

Contrary to Scarborough’s claim, study after study has found little evidence that immigration negatively affects American’s wages in the long term, and research shows that immigrants tend to take jobs that Americans don’t want.

It’s unsurprising that Scarborough — who fairly recently denounced his old political party — is mimicking the talking points of President Trump, who in early February called the former Florida congressman “a great guy [who] has a great show.”

By then MSNBC execs were reportedly disconcerted by “Scarborough’s friendship with Trump and his increasingly favorable coverage of the candidate.” Of course, Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski subsequently distanced themselves from their old chum, drawing the Twitter ire of Trump.

But with Scaramucci unemployed, Scarborough parroting the right-wing talking points, and Trump ever changing from moment to moment, are we looking at the next White House communications director?

Hahaha, Alex Jones? Crazy is right, check out this video if you have time.

That was powerful stuff old_blu. He’s getting popular now. The former member of the lunatic fringe may not be all that fringy anymore, but he never disappoints on the lunatic part.

      1. old_blu August 4, 2017

Oh yeah, he is a lunatic.

  2. Beethoven August 4, 2017

So basically if I take plain chicken broth and flavor it with chocolate, I can advertise it as containing “Bone Broth … and other Ancient Supernutrients,” claim it is the secret health food used by the ancient supermen, and sell it for maybe $12.95 for an 8-ounce bottle. Unfortunately, there are enough suckers around, that if my moral compass is low enough to allow me to do that, I can make a fortune.

Trump and Scarborough need to do a little research on immigrants:

Left and Right Agree: Immigrants Don’t Take American Jobs

That immigrants take the jobs of American-born citizens is “something that virtually no learned person believes in,” Alex Nowrasteh, an immigration expert at the libertarian Cato Institute, said at a Thursday panel. “It’s sort of a silly thing.”

Most economists don’t find immigrants driving down wages or jobs, the Brookings Institution’s Michael Greenstone and Adam Looney wrote in May. In fact, “on average,
immigrant workers increase the opportunities and incomes of Americans,”
they write. Foreign-born workers don’t affect the employment rate positively or negatively, according to a 2011 analysis from the conservative American Enterprise Institute. And a study released Wednesday by the liberal Center for American Progress suggests that granting legal status to undocumented workers might even create jobs.

Thank you Independent. I too miss the week in crazy.

Hey, I learn a lot of stuff that I didn’t know before by listening to Alex Jones. Did you know that Nancy Pelosi is not only dead, but her “replacement” is currently running a pedophile ring with Hillary while planning on how to fake the next moon landing? How about that huh? Pretty shocking.

And I’ve never felt better since Alex told me that sunscreens and multi-vitamins are a mind control gov’t conspiracy. So I’ve gotten off them and bought his Survival Shield X-2 – Nascent Iodine with chocolate bone broth. It apparently protects me from the CIA lizard people too, so it’s a win-win.

    Jones: Yet another unhinged con-man.
No wonder he and President F**kface Von Clownstick on so well.
I’m surprised they’re not sleeping together.

No body wants to know because the visuals are too hard to take.
